For more than 65 years, the Intensive English Program at the University of Miami (IEP) has immersed students in American culture while preparing them for academic success through quality English-language instruction. The IEP helps international students adapt to university life and American culture through a wealth of activities both inside and outside the classroom. The program facilitates intercultural understanding, offers support and guidance related to nonacademic issues, and builds ease and confidence in a new culture.
IEP at the Unversity of Miami offers five levels of classes, from beginner to advanced. There are six start dates throughout the year (January, February, May, June, August, and October) to choose from. All classes, as well as faculty and administrative offices, are in one location (Allen Hall at the University of Miami) to ease the transition to a new environment.
IEP students have full access to all UM facilities, including the library, pool, and recreational amenities.
