The University of Miami Interior Design Certificate Program is a hands-on, non-credit program for individuals who want to explore a career in interior design, work in a related field, or improve their design skills. The program is also well-suited for professionals with international backgrounds who wish to practice their trade in the United States.
Taught by industry professionals, the program’s curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of design and introduces the many different aspects of the profession. Students are introduced to the artistic elements of the industry and also learn the technical skills needed to bring their creative visions to life. The hands-on training program includes lessons on the principles of design, green design and sustainability, freehand, and computer drafting. Students will learn how to build a portfolio and gain a deeper understanding of the technical, legal, and business aspects of the design world.
In addition, digital badges are also available to graduates, allowing them to highlight and share their acquired skills and competencies with their current or future employers.
